Milestone: 30 Days Teaching6/1/2017 Wow, I can't believe I'm already 30 days into my yoga teaching adventure! This past month has been such an amazing (and humbling) learning experience. I'm finding my voice. I'm discovering my style. I've had moments where everything flowed and moments when they just didn't.
I spend hours agonizing over a class sequence. I worry about things like: Does it flow? Is it too easy? Is it too hard? Will the class like it? I stress over music and timing. I wonder if I should close with a guided meditation or a yogi massage or maybe I should just let them enjoy savasana in peace. I'm quite certain I'm overthinking things WAY too much. Alas, I'm new. I suppose that will fade...in time. Maybe next month? Ha! Not likely. I realize teaching yoga is just like doing yoga—It's a practice! Therefore, I suppose there is hope. I will get better. I'll become more comfortable. I will stress and obsess less. Oh please, I hope. In the meantime, I want to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to all those very patient and supportive students attending my classes. Your love, encouragement and kind words have made this yoga teaching journey so much fun. I appreciate every moment and your willingness to stick with me as I find my way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Namaste. You should consult a medical practitioner before starting any new exercise regime.
