Stretch & Flow Yoga
What is Flow Yoga?
Influenced by Ashtanga yoga, typical classes "flow" from one pose to the next. This type of yoga is also referred to as Vinyasa or Vinyasa Flow. Vinyasa in Sanskrit means a sequence or order. In essence, this yoga flows in a seamless sequence. There are cues during the class to help students improve alignment but there is little to no stopping to talk about the finer points of each pose. The great benefit to flow yoga is students feel like the get good workout as well as a yoga experience.
Ann's Style of Flow
This flow class is suitable for all levels of student, from beginner to more advanced. The class focuses on linking breath, movement, and alignment. Throughout the class, modifications are offered in order for students to make poses easier or more difficult as they deem appropriate for their own skill, mood, and physical condition.
What if I'm new to Yoga?
If you're new to yoga, you might also consider scheduling a private lesson with Ann to better understand the poses or to take Basic or Yin/Yang which are slower styles of yoga and will enable you to get a feel for the poses.
