What is Yoga Basics?
Influenced by Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga, a yoga basics class focuses on the fundamentals of yoga, including alignment, posture, movement & breath. Transitions are slow when moving from pose to pose. Plus, there is often detailed instruction on the finer points of each pose. A yoga basics class is great for new yoga practitioners. It gives students the time to learn how a pose should feel and to truly experience yoga, while also getting a great workout.
Ann's Style of Flow
Whether it’s a training day or a rest day, this 1-hour class will teach you the basics about yoga. We focus on proper pose alignment which is necessary to build strength in the core, shoulders, back, chest and legs, while also improving flexibility in shoulders, hips and hamstrings. As with all of Ann's yoga classes this one is intended to help athletes avoid injuries caused by strong tight muscles and to increase performance through improved range of motion.
What if I'm new to Yoga?
Great! You will love this class. The slow pace, hands-on guidance and long hold times will give you time to learn more about the poses while also improving your overall flexibility.
